A slow cooker dish that will leave a good lasting memory.
There are dish that could really make a great impact on people. It could be the because of the taste, the aroma, the ingredients used, the history and sometimes the simplicity of the dish. These dishes can create a long lasting memory especially when prepared right. These dishes are those that make you feel nostalgic at times.
This simple dish is one of those dishes that can give you a nostalgic feel, or for some this would remind them of times during a certain era. For me, personally, it reminds me of a small cottage in the woods and a simple warm meal.
The first time I tried making this recipe, I served it on a family gathering with a few friends together with us. After a few bites, everyone was asking what the recipe was. They all loved it and were amazed on how simple the ingredients are but how great it tasted.

Slow Cooked Mushroom Hot Pot
a large selection of potatoes – this really depends on the size of your dish and what you have in the kitchen… I used a bag of new potatoes that needed finishing off but any good quality white potato will work.
2 large onions – finely sliced
3 large flat mushrooms – thickly sliced
2 carrots – sliced
2 sticks of celery – thickly sliced
1/2 litre of stock made up of half white wine and half vegetable stock
butter and olive oil
fresh herbs such as thyme and rosemary
