The spicy and savory flavors from the sausage make the beans all more indulging. But make sure in adding salt, you do it after cooking or before serving. We wouldn’t want the beans to be less tender upon serving, do we?

Slow-Cooker Red Beans and Rice

Ingredients:

1 pound dried red kidney beans

1/2 pound andouille smoked chicken sausage, thinly sliced

3 celery ribs, chopped

1 green bell pepper, chopped

1 medium onion, chopped

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon Creole seasoning

7 cups water

3 cups uncooked long-grain rice

Garnish: sliced green onions
